Sub: Mandatory Sampling and Testing of Chilli/Chilli products Consignments for Exports: Ref:1. Our Circular of even No: dated 9.10.2003 & 12.11.2003: 2. Our letter No:MD/QLTY/01/2003 dated 17th March, 2004:
In continuation of our earlier Circulars and letter referred to above, it has been decided that all consignments of Chillies/Chilli Products prepared for export to any destination shall continue to be subjected to mandatory sampling for analysis of Sudan dye/Aflatoxin. The procedures prescribed earlier with respect to sampling will continue to be in force. With effect from 15.09.2004, exporters shall be required to submit a Certificate in the format [Annexure I] to the effect that the consignment submitted for Customs clearance has been subjected to mandatory sampling as per the provisions of this Circular. Customs Authorities have been asked not to clear consignments which are not accompanied by the aforesaid Certificate. The details of officers authorised to issue the Certificate are at Annexure II. This issues under the provisions of the Spices Board [Registration of Exporters] Amendment Regulations, 2004. [C.J.JOSE] CHAIRMAN
