Guidelines for Printing
1. Trade name/brand with logo :

5. Date of packing and date of expiry (If you are printing both these dates, the difference between these 2 dates should not exceed 24 months)

Items 3 to 5 should be printed on the principal side of the pack, preferably in the lower portion.

NOTE
In case of Curry powder, Curry paste and Masalas, the ingredients used should be indicated on the packs in proportion of weight, though the weight or the percentage or quantity should be shown in the descending order. Direction for use in case of ground spices and curry powder can also be printed. Both the list of ingredients and direction for use should be printed on the back side. In addition to this, the following should be observed.
(a)
Any qualifying description given on the pouches should be in confirmity with the quality.
(b)
The party should be give declaration to the Spices Board regarding the ownership of the trade/brand and logo on the TBL.

The following printings can also be made, if the buyer insists for the same:

2 Grade
3 C.A. No. of packer
4 Printing the date/month of packing, it was decided to print any one of the following:
(a) date/month of packing
(b) date/month of expiry
(c) best before/use before/consume before

However, the exporter should furnish a photocopy of the consent letter received from buyer indicating his requirements of printing on consumer pack at the time of submission of his application for registration of brand name.

Stamping/pasting of stickers on the consumer packs are not permitted. All the descriptions should be printed. In the case of tin plate containers, marking by indelible ink is permitted.
